In it he covers history, manufacturing, art form, and restoration as well as giving a unique insight into his own personal collection. The book is intentionally mainly images with minimal text so as to convey the special atmosphere of the period. Although much of the content has been drawn from petroliana.co.uk the book goes into even more detail and is designed to complement the enjoyment of the website and visa versa. Alan's casual writing style makes for a very interesting read, even for those who are not Petroliana enthusiasts.
