EARLY SALON PETROLEUM DISPENSER
A great piece of history! This large bulk petroleum dispensing unit serves half, one, two and three litre measures. It was made & used in Europe 120 years ago to dispense petroleum for use mainly for lighting. Petroleum was a product similar to paraffin or kerosene & not a volatile as petrol. In these days the bulk supplies would have been delivered from a large tank on a cart & pulled by horses. In later years these horse drawn wagons also delivered motor spirit (petrol) but only in two gallon metal cans
